Chapter 11: Mechanical Weed Control

11.6 Summary

This chapter discussed different types of mechanical weed control, including tillage, as well as hand-pulling, flaming, mowing and mulching.  Various advantages and disadvantages for tillage were compared.  We also described a few of the most common tillage machinery implements used in row crops.   Mechanical weed control can be a successful component of an Integrated Weed Management program.
