Wikipedia India seems to be fairly commonly used platform within the country. A post from Global Newstream title ” Wikipedia’s Lies in India” Over 600 people attended the Wikipedia conference in India in 2011. Which I’m assuming for the time period and Wikipedia only being a few years old , and India’s size, was a decent amount. Jimmy Wales , the Co-founder of Wikipedia says that they’re ” Incredibly lucky” to be in India because Wikipedia is look for great opportunities with the India and the languages” It stated that , English at the time in India had over 3 million entries and 35,000 editors, while Hindi at the time, had only 5o editors. India houses over 447 languages within the country. The rule of 1976, The constitution of India mandates Hindi and English as the official languages requires for official purpose of the Union and the sake of this assignment , We’ll only be going over Hindi and English Wikipedia within the country.

The Enligh India Wikipedia houses information of the countries Etymology , History , Economy , Geography and etc, When it comes to the edits of that page it sees over 26,612 edits and over 2,250,771 page views within the last 60 days. As for the Hindi version of India Wikipedia , it set over 151,109 views within the last 60 says and a total of 543 editors and 1,655 edits. It only has 327 pages viewer’s compared to the 4,4848 in English. So it’s safe to say the English is the most common between the two.
Wikipedia India , as of 2022 has over 6,000 Active editors of English and over 300 active editors of Hindi within the country. Wikipedia: Wiki projects Countries takes all the pages along with page views and ranks them. India falls in 3rd with over 1,215,365 page views with a daily average of 39,205. The Hindi Wikipedia page also houses over 71million total page views with over 28k edits. When you look at what languages it can be translated into , you get 166. English Wikipedia is also highly viewed within India with over 767 million views from the country , once again placing 3rd. One of the regular editors of the English Wikipedia of India is very active, with the latest post being February of 14 of 2022. When once again looking at the the Global Newstream , there does seem to a considerable amount of information of the country and Wikipedia with multiple source types, but there is almost a 8,000 difference between the ones published using English and he ones published using Hindi.
