218 Country Report: Data Visualization
Weiye Meng
I chose to visualize the internet penetration rate in Thailand over the years using a line chart. The internet penetration rate is the percentage of individuals who have used the internet within the past year.
I chose a line chart because it is a great way to show trends over time. With a line chart, it is easy to see how the internet penetration rate has changed over the years in Thailand. The x-axis shows the years, while the y-axis shows the percentage of individuals using the internet. The line connecting the data points makes it clear that internet usage has increased steadily in Thailand over the years.
This visualization method is effective because it shows a clear trend over time. The line chart is a familiar and easily understandable visualization that can communicate information quickly and clearly. Furthermore, the upward trend in the line chart indicates that the internet is becoming more accessible to people in Thailand, which could have significant implications for the country’s social, economic, and political landscape.
