3. For this data set, I chose to do the number of households with internet access in South Africa from 2013-2028. As we can see in the second data set from Statista, the number of households is growing exponentially. Although, relative to the general population of South Africa, the number is actually quite low. For example, in 2022, only 14.7 million households had access to internet. Obviously this is not positively correlated with the population because we are talking about households and not individuals. But just to put in into perspective, the same number in 2022 in Canada was nearly one million people higher, which means more internet access per capita. For my own dataset, I chose to do a scatter plot detailing the number of households with internet access in both South Africa and Canada. As we can see, the numbers are drastically similar, yet Canada’s population is a little bit over half of what South Africa’s is. This is where the main problem is presented. What I also find interesting is that Canada’s internet access piqued much quicker than South Africa’s, which is likely due to exposure during the early days of the internet.
