41 Country Report: Data Visualization

I chose to create a line chart in order to depict the data given by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics on Ethiopia’s Literacy Rate between ages 15 and older. The reason I chose a line graph for this depiction is because I wanted to showcase the comparison between literate males and literate females. With a line chart, I was able to separately show the male and female literacy rate as well as a combined literacy rate of the two genders. I also decided to use a line chart to show the trend of literacy between the years plotted. The audience can see that the literacy rate has increased greatly over the years. This is an important comparison when looking at a country’s economic growth.
