Global Option

International Engineering Design Requirement

 To meet the International Engineering Design requirement for the Global Option in the Multidisciplinary Design Capstone course sequence (ENGR 5901/5902), the student(s) will complete the following assignment in addition to the required course assignments.

A 2-3 page report that details international/global aspects to the capstone project that the student has been assigned.  These aspects may include but not limited to the following (the report must include at least 3):

  • The international marketability of the product/solution.
  • The impact of implementation of the product/solution in international manufacturing facilities.
  • The sustainable aspects of the product/solution in a global environment.
  • The economic impact of the product/solution in the global economy.
  • The design changes that need to be made due to existing technology in a global market.
  • The financial impact on the sponsor to implement product/solution in other countries.
  • Challenges and opportunities introduced by the product/solution by a global supply chain.
  • Cultural considerations needed to implement product/solution in another community/country.
