Singapore’s Aging Population – Data Visualization

Singapore has one of the fastest aging populations in the world, with a rapidly increasing proportion of elderly citizens. However, the aging population in Singapore poses a number of challenges and issues that need to be addressed. With that, I used picture icons to visualize ratios for Singapore’s aging population so as to show the severity of the issue. Moreover, I attached explanations to this picture-icon visualizations so as to elaborate on the significance of the simple ratios. I also used a line graph to visualize the trend for Singapore’s increasing life expectancy to show the consistently increasing ages of Singaporeans. Finally, I used a column bar graph to compare the median age in Singapore across three different time periods so as to demonstrate the large shift in the country’s central tendency for age.
