Preface

This book was written for students who are taking the course “Introduction to Environmental Science” (ENR2100) at The Ohio State University.  It is intended to help our students successfully develop and create a scientific poster.

Our book was also written with other students and other STEM classes in mind.  We hope that instructors and students from all scientific disciplines find our book useful as a resource for creating a scientific poster and giving a professional poster presentation.

The book is divided into six chapters. Each chapter focuses on a different part of a scientific poster.

  • Chapters 1 and 2 provide an overview of scientific posters.
  • Chapter 3 examines the different parts of a scientific poster.
  • Chapter 4 focuses on scientific literature and sources.
  • Chapter 5 explores scientific figures and tables.
  • Chapter 6 is focused on the poster presentation and poster event.
