Welcome to the English Linguistics Learning Modules!

I have designed these modules to be focused and interactive, including all the stuff I want you to know and very little else (except for links to related ideas). This “textbook” will be a continual work-in-progress, so I appreciate any feedback on what’s working, errors you find, or suggestions of things to add! The units are organized in two parts each: a “Basic Unit” and an “Advanced Unit.” After each unit, there is a quiz so that you can check your understanding of the material. I highly recommend you complete these quizzes, along with the activities throughout the chapter, as part of your “reading.”

I have bolded important terms throughout the text, but I reserve keyword boxes for the terms that I think are the most important AND I think you are least likely to already know:
