About the Authors

Karen Winstead is a specialist in medieval literature and in popular culture whose teaching repertoire ranges from medieval women to vampires.  Her ambition is to stoke students’ love of literature in all its variety.  There’s no course she loves teaching more than English 2201.

Michael Hilty was a 4th year English undergraduate student at the time of undertaking this project, graduating in Spring 2020. He was inspired to contribute to this project after taking several courses with Dr. Karen Winstead, including 2201 in Autumn 2019, and working closely with her as a result is his role with the English Undergraduate Organization. He advised on content and pedagogy and provided a current undergraduate perspective on the project.

 

Faith Rush was a senior in the English and History Departments at OSU while working on this project. She is currently getting her M. Ed. in Integrated Language Arts at OSU and hopes to teach (and learn from) middle schoolers in the central Ohio area, working to make her own curriculum relevant, approachable,  and diverse for students of all backgrounds.

 

Rachel Stewart was a fourth year undergraduate English major with a minor in popular culture studies at the time of this textbook’s creation. Her research interests include nineteenth century popular fiction and culture, with a special interest in the Gothic and vampires.
