Overview
Before we experience what people read in pre-1800 Britain, we’ll examine how they read. In this bundle you will
- Think about the ways in which books presented themselves to readers in pre-1800 Britain and about how packaging affects meaning and interpretation.
- Question standard assumptions about anonymous authors!
- Learn about some reading practices common in the past but not much practiced in the present.
